A. Information about Bay City I.S.D. and parochial schools
Bay City High School serves all students in grades 9-12. BCHS is an Academically Acceptable School with a population of about 1040 students. Students participate in excellent academic, music, drama, and sports programs. There are various dual credit classes available. All students in Bay City attend one junior high. There are three elementary schools, John H. Cherry, Tenie Holmes, and Linnie Roberts. Holy Cross Catholic School serves children from 3 years old through 5th grade. In addition, First Methodist Church has a preschool for 2, 3, and 4 year olds. There are additional day cares who provide preschool settings.
B. College Information
We are within driving distance of several colleges, which offer both under graduate and graduate degree programs. Bay City is close to Wharton which is home to Wharton County Junior College (WCJC). The WCJC Bay City Campus serves as a technical education hub and is the base for its nuclear power technology, process technology, and emergency medical services programs. In addition, Brazosport College is in near-by Clute. The University of Houston has a campus in Victoria.
